This program focuses on the utilization of computers and computer software to plan, install and customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure.  It prepares students to be IT professionals: well-versed on application installation, operation, development, maintenance and administration and familiar with hardware installation, operation, and maintenance.  In this program, the students will learn to analyze, design, manage and administer systems; operate databases, network and multimedia media systems; integrate, test and document software; and apply principles of accounting in relation to the use of information technology in various industries.  Capstone project in the form of systems application or an enterprise resource plan is required for the students in this program.  The program includes an intensive on the job training for the students to have the chance and opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and attitude learned in the school and at the same time the opportunity to experience the corporate environment of the industry affiliates of this institution.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The BSIT Program will enable its graduates to:

  1. Have the ability to hold progressively more responsible positions in the IT field, including positions that are supervisory or managerial in nature.
  2. Engage in life-long learning and professional development.
  3. Communicate effectively as an IT professional with users, peers, and higher management.
  4. Work effectively on teams, whether as a participant or as leader.
  5. Demonstrate ethical behavior as an IT professional and sensitivity to the impact of technology on society.
  6. Pursue and successfully complete an advanced degree if desired.
